Under the supervision of the Technical Director, the Aircraft Structural Repair Specialist is responsible for providing technical support and engineering liaison services for all projects. The Liaison Agent serves as the single point of contact between Production and Engineering. They actively supervise, coordinate, and monitor all engineering-related activities for each project and ensure that all engineering data is received in a timely manner to support successful project execution.
The Aircraft Structural Repair Specialist works closely with Production, Avianor’s Engineering Department, external engineering firms, OEMs, and customer technical representatives.
Reporting to the Technical Director, the primary duties and responsibilities of the Aircraft Structural Repair Specialist include:
Production-Related Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for structural damage issues, including aircraft/component damage, design deviations, interpretation of engineering data, SRM clarifications, part interchangeability, aircraft modifications, new installations, and related matters.
- Coordinate with customers regarding engineering requests that require their approval.
- Coordinate the release and revision of drawings, modification lists, and related documentation.
- Issue and/or manage all Request for Engineering (RFE) documents.
- Track and process all RFEs.
- Liaise with Avianor’s Engineering Department, engineering firms, and OEMs for the development of repairs and modifications.
- Assess and document damage through sketches, photographs, presentations, damage reports, and related documentation.
- Take measurements using standard measuring equipment.
- Coordinate NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) requirements for repair schemes, as required.
- Provide technical support to Production for the interpretation of engineering drawings, specifications, models, and documentation.
- Assist Production with SRM repairs and criteria, as well as design-related issues during repair activities.
- Interact directly with customer technical representatives on engineering-related matters.
- Assist Production and Purchasing with alternative materials, fasteners, and related items.
- Maintain an up-to-date database of all reported damage, including drawings, service letters, and related documentation.
- Provide daily feedback to Production regarding issues and engineering developments.
- Work with the Quality Department to ensure documentation and records are completed and comply with AMO and customer requirements.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Requirements
- Experience in aircraft Structure Mechanic (AME-S)
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the aerospace industry.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
