Reporting to the Director of Supply Chain, the Buyer will be responsible for the following key duties:

1. Purchasing and Procurement

  • Convert approved purchase requests into Purchase Orders (POs).
  • Obtain quotations and negotiate with suppliers.
  • Purchase required parts, materials, and services.
  • Verify pricing, delivery schedules, and order confirmations.
  • Maintain purchasing data and records in the ERP system.

2. Order and Supplier Management

  • Monitor and follow up on open, delayed, and backordered purchase orders.
  • Resolve discrepancies related to receipts and deliveries.
  • Process supplier returns (RMAs) and claims.
  • Ensure applicable credits and reimbursements are received.
  • Maintain positive and effective relationships with suppliers.

3. Logistics and Transportation

  • Coordinate the transportation of goods.
  • Obtain freight and transportation quotes.
  • Track shipments and customs documentation.
  • Ensure delivery commitments and deadlines are met.

4. Compliance and Documentation

  • Ensure compliance with aviation industry regulations and requirements.
  • Obtain and verify Certificates of Conformance (CoC) and other required documentation.
  • Maintain purchasing documentation and records within the ERP system.
  • Support supplier qualification and approval activities.

5. Supplier Management

  • Ensure suppliers are approved in accordance with company standards and Transport Canada requirements.
  • Maintain the approved supplier list.
  • Assist with onboarding and integrating new suppliers.

6. Internal Collaboration and Operational Support

  • Collaborate closely with Production, Planning, Engineering, Finance, and Stores teams.
  • Participate in project kick-off meetings and maintenance-related activities.
  • Support procurement needs to ensure uninterrupted operations.

7. Customer Service (Aviation Sector)

  • Communicate with customers regarding purchasing activities and contractual agreements.
  • Coordinate administrative aspects related to aircraft maintenance projects.
  • Monitor and support aircraft customs clearance requirements.

Profile Sought

  • Experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or aviation environment.
  • Experience working with an ERP system.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong follow-up, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent internal and external customer service skills.
