DESCRIPTION
The Continuing Education Department of Champlain College Saint-Lambert requires the services of an HOURLY INSTRUCTOR to teach the course ANIMAL-ASSISTED THERAPY TECHNIQUES AND CLIENT CARE (351-A34-LA).
This course explores ethical and professional issues and standards in the field of zootherapy. It examines the scope of intervention, analyzing client needs, and situating zootherapy within broader professional contexts. Topics include ethical conduct, implementing a zootherapy program, safe work practices, and developing personalized intervention action plans.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Must have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a related field (psychology, counseling, social work, occupational therapy, or physical therapy) and work experience in client assessment and intervention planning. Must have experience with animals (work or volunteer in animal shelters, veterinary clinics, stables, or therapy programs). Must have professional experience in providing animal-assisted therapy interventions and program implementation. Professional certification in animal-assisted therapy is an asset. Must have knowledge of ethical practices and professional standards in intervention settings. Teaching experience within a similar program is an asset. This course is taught in English; proficiency in English is required.
