Job Description
The Continuing Education Department of Champlain College Saint-Lambert requires the services of an HOURLY INSTRUCTOR to teach the course DEVELOPING ADAPTIVE SKILLS THROUGH ANIMAL-ASSISTED THERAPY (351-A64-LA).

This introductory course incorporates the zootherapy approach while developing students' understanding of clients' condition from a developmental perspective, in terms of developing or maintaining skills. Topics include identifying characteristics of adaptation issues, exploring the adaptation process in individuals and families, analyzing influencing and protective factors, and action plans for individual needs.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Must have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field (psychology, counseling, social work, occupational therapy, or physical therapy) and work experience in client assessment and intervention planning. Must have experience with animals (work or volunteer in animal shelters, veterinary clinics, stables, or therapy programs). Experience in integrating animal-assisted therapy into practice is an asset. Professional certification in animal-assisted therapy is an asset. Must know ethical practices and professional standards in intervention settings. This course is taught in English; proficiency in English is required.

Up to two (2) Saturday classes per month may be held in person; the remaining classes will be delivered online/at a distance. The specific in-person dates will be determined in collaboration with the hired instructor. Selected candidates must have the ability to deliver a course online.
The schedule and course dates may change based on the needs of the program.
