JOB DESCRIPTION
The Continuing Education Department of Champlain College Saint-Lambert requires the services of an HOURLY INSTRUCTOR to teach the course INTRODUCTION TO SPECIAL EDUCATION TECHNIQUES (351-114-LA).
This course explores the field of special education techniques, focusing on its key aspects including laws, support systems, and how work is organized.
Students will learn about the different roles, responsibilities, and tasks within the SET profession.
They will gain a clear understanding of special education as a helping field, learn to differentiate between various intervention practices, connect their roles to the intervention process, and identify essential work tools.
By combining theory with practical exercises, the course aims to provide students with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed in special education techniques.
Activities such as discussions, case studies, and role- playing will help students prepare for real-world situations.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Must have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related discipline and 2 years teaching experience.
Teaching experience in special care counselling or a related program is an asset.
Experience working with diverse client groups in the special care counselling field is strongly recommended.
This course is taught in English; proficiency in English is required.

(October 14 & 21; November 11 & 25 ONLY)
All classes are given in-person from the college campus.
The hired instructor must have the ability to teach a course online/at a distance, should the need exceptionally arise.
The schedule and course dates may change based on the needs of the program.
The program start date could be delayed or cancelled due to insufficient registration.
COMMENTS
This course is taught in English. The selected incumbent will be required to work in English.
