JOB DESCRIPTION
The Continuing Education Department of Champlain College Saint-Lambert requires the services of an HOURLY INSTRUCTOR to teach the course INTERPERSONAL COMMUNICATION AND GROUP FACILITATION (351-116-LA).
This course focuses on how to communicate effectively with individuals and their families taking into consideration the diversity of the clientele.
It also covers how to identify factors that help or hinder communication and emphasizes the importance of active listening to both informative and emotional content.
Students will also learn to communicate within a work team by using appropriate facilitation and leadership techniques, actively participating in discussions, appropriately asserting their opinions and needs, and promoting collaboration.
Additionally, the course addresses conflict resolution techniques, including analyzing situations carefully and finding mutually acceptable solutions.
The combination of theoretical knowledge and practical exercises aims to equip students with the essential communication and conflict resolution skills needed in a professional context.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Must have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related discipline and 2 years teaching experience.
Teaching experience in special care counselling or a related program is an asset.
Experience working with diverse client groups in the special care counselling field is required.
This course is taught in English; proficiency in English is required

All classes are given in-person from the college campus.
The hired instructor must have the ability to teach a course online/at a distance, should the need exceptionally arise.
The schedule and course dates may change based on the needs of the program.
The program start could be delayed or cancelled due to insufficient registration.
COMMENTS
This course is taught in English. The selected incumbent will be required to work in English.
