JOB DESCRIPTION
The Continuing Education Department of Champlain College Saint-Lambert requires the services of an HOURLY INSTRUCTOR to teach the course CARING COMMUNICATION IN A PROFESSIONAL CONTEXT (322-333-LA).
By the end of the course, students will have learned the characteristics of a healthy relationship of trust.
They will understand and be able to apply the key elements of communication, such as listening, the appropriate level of language and appropriate non-verbal behaviours, while being able to situate their strengths and challenges in their communications with children, colleagues, and resource persons.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Must have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related discipline and 2 years of teaching experience, or a DEC in Early Childhood Education or Special Care Counselling or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years of work experience in a daycare setting. Teaching experience in Early Childhood Education or a related program such as Child Studies, Special Care Counselling, Special Education, or Social Work is an asset.
Being familiar with different intervention approaches is strongly recommended.
This course is taught in English; proficiency in English is required.
Teaching experience with an adult clientele is strongly recommended.
