Job Description
Summary
Perform a variety of routine and complex tasks related to the installation, maintenance, and calibration of therapeutic, diagnostic, or life-support biomedical instruments.
This position oversees daily operations, collaborates with clients, supports colleague development, and acts as a communication link between hospital leadership and Christie Innomed’s head office. The role also involves hands-on biomedical service activities and ensures compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities

Apply technical knowledge to supervise on-site operations.

Perform daily repairs and scheduled maintenance.

Mentor and guide support technicians as needed.

Communicate with clients and keep the Regional Manager informed.

Manage service operations, contracts, and supply inventory.

Identify and resolve technical or procedural issues.

Prioritize open work orders and document preventive maintenance.

Build and maintain strong client relationships.

Contribute to financial performance through efficient service delivery.
Qualifications and Requirements

College diploma in Biomedical Engineering required; bachelor’s degree preferred.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in a hospital clinical engineering department, with exposure to leadership responsibilities.

Technical experience in maintaining ventilators and anesthesia systems.

Ability to travel regularly for up to two weeks at a time. Must hold a valid driver’s license, passport, and any other required travel documents.

Technical certifications (A+, CBET, CRES, CLES, CCE) considered an asset.

Ability to obtain ICC Biomedical Equipment Technician certification required.

Experience with Microsoft 365 and CMMS systems.

Knowledge of electronic circuits, troubleshooting, and biomedical schematics.

Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
