Perform a variety of routine or complex tasks related to the installation, maintenance, and calibration of therapeutic, diagnostic, or life-support biomedical equipment. This role manages daily operations, collaborates with customers while maintaining positive relationships, and receives direction from the Regional Service Manager (RSM) or assigned Site Manager. The position also ensures that services comply with regulatory standards.

Technical Knowledge and Customer Service

Apply technical knowledge and experience to repair and maintain equipment;
-
Establish and maintain positive relationships and expectations with customers;
-
Travel occasionally to other customer sites as required;
-
Perform daily repairs and scheduled maintenance.

Follow direction from the Regional Service Manager or assigned Site Manager;
-
Respond to inquiries and collaborate with others to identify the root cause of technical or process-related issues;
-
Manage workshop supply inventory;
-
Oversee daily operations, ensure open work orders are prioritized, and preventive maintenance inspections are properly documented.

Build and maintain customer relationships using strong interpersonal and conflict management skills;
-
Collaborate effectively with customers and vendors to develop win-win solutions.

College diploma in Biomedical Engineering required; bachelor’s degree is an asset;
-
Minimum of two (2) years of experience, preferably in a hospital clinical engineering environment;
-
Ability to travel regularly to other sites to provide support;
-
Technical certifications such as A+, CBET, CRES, CLES, or CCE are considered assets;

Ability to obtain Biomedical Equipment Technician certification from the International Certification Commission (ICC) is required.

Ability to manage a biomedical equipment fleet with minimal supervision;

Experience with Microsoft 365 applications;

Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS);

Knowledge of electronic circuits;

Electronic troubleshooting skills;

Ability to interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and exploded views of biomedical instruments;

Ability to work in sterile environments when required;
-
Availability to work nights, weekends, or holidays as needed;

Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions;

Ability to maintain accurate and organized records;
-
Basic knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology;

Proficiency in email, database management, spreadsheets, and word processing software;
-
Ability to perform basic financial analysis and calculate budgets, revenue, and costs;
-
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
