Position
SummaryThe Director, Supply Chain and Physical Operations is responsible for the performance, talent development, operational excellence, and evolution of the company's supply chain and facilities management activities.
We are seeking a pragmatic and hands-on operational leader who can build a structured, reliable, and scalable function. The successful candidate will work closely with day-to-day operations and understand frontline realities, including warehousing, facilities management, shipping and receiving, inventory management, parts flow, returns, domestic and international transportation, supplier management, and support for service and project teams.
In the short term, the priority will be to strengthen discipline, organization, and standardization within warehouse operations. Over the longer term, the incumbent will play a key role in establishing the structures, processes, performance metrics, and management practices required to support Christie Innomed's continued growth across North America.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Supply Chain and Physical Operations- Provide leadership to supply chain, logistics, procurement, inventory management, warehousing, and facilities teams across Canada and the United States.
- Establish clear priorities, accountability, and effective management processes to ensure operational excellence.
- Develop team capabilities, succession planning, and a culture of operational excellence.
- Standardize warehousing and inventory control practices across the organization.
- Improve inventory accuracy, space utilization, and operational efficiency.
- Ensure inventory processes effectively support customer, service, and project requirements.
- Oversee domestic and cross-border transportation activities.
- Manage relationships with carriers, customs brokers, and third-party logistics providers (3PLs).
- Improve visibility, reliability, and cost-effectiveness of logistics operations.
- Ensure efficient sourcing of parts, equipment, and materials required for operations and projects.
- Collaborate with internal teams to align procurement activities with business needs and customer commitments.
- Drive continuous improvement in procurement processes and supplier performance.
- Promote standardization, continuous improvement, and performance measurement.
- Support ERP and warehouse management system optimization initiatives.
- Ensure operational processes are documented, controlled, and audit compliant.
- Oversee facilities-related activities, including site readiness, vendor coordination, and real estate footprint projects.
- Ensure facilities effectively support business growth and operational needs.
- Improve service levels, inventory performance, operational efficiency, and cost management.
- Collaborate closely with Sales, Service, Finance, Information Technology, and Project teams to support company growth.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Logistics, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- 8–12+ years of experience in supply chain management and warehouse operations, ideally within medical technology, field service support, industrial equipment, or a similar operational environment.
- 3–5+ years of experience leading multi-site teams, including procurement, inventory management, and logistics.
- Strong hands-on experience managing multi-site operations and improving warehouse performance, inventory control, logistics flows, and operational routines.
- Experience with ERP systems is required; NetSuite experience is considered a significant asset. Participation in ERP implementation or deployment projects is highly desirable.
- Ability to thrive in a mid-sized organization where structures and processes continue to evolve while maintaining day-to-day operational continuity.
- Excellent ability to influence and collaborate with experienced employees, field service teams, suppliers, financial partners, project managers, and executive leadership.
- Strong systems-thinking mindset, balancing short-term operational needs with long-term growth objectives.
- Bilingualism (French and English), both written and spoken.
- Willingness to travel occasionally to company locations across Canada and the United States.
- Experience with Canada–U.S. cross-border operations (carriers, customs, customs brokers, tariff classification/HS codes) and expedited shipping is considered a strong asset.
- APICS (CPIM, CSCP), CITT (P.Log.), Lean, Six Sigma, or other relevant certifications are considered assets.
- Experience in an ISO 9001 and ISO 27001 environment is considered an asset.
