We are seeking an Engineering Technician / Project Engineer to join our Pressure Pipe / Microtunnels Engineering team in Utopia, ON. The Engineering Tech / Project Engineer will be focused on coordinating with colleagues and management to ensure projects are executed and delivered in an efficient and timely matter. Responsible for supporting and communicating with project management, purchasing, production, QC/QA, shipping, and accounting to see various stages of new orders & projects through from start to finish in a productive manner.
 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Creating, distributing and managing technical manufacturing drawings, layouts and supporting documents required for the manufacturing of various products.
  • Logging and tracking the status of products required for each order and ensuring they are completed on time.
  • Organizing and maintaining records for each new order, including PO’s, change orders, contract drawings/specifications, etc.
  • Determining required materials for new orders and consolidating them into a material order form.
  • Reviewing customer PO’s and vender quotes for accuracy.
  • Creating and maintaining sales orders for new orders with up to date and accurate information for shipping and billing purposes.
  • Project management of CPP projects, liaison with customer for all aspects of the project.

 

Skills, Education & Experience

  • C.Tech, C.E.T. or B.Eng is preferred
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills – able to work on multiple projects and perform various activities concurrently and within required time constraints.
  • Proficient with modelling software – AutoCAD and Solidworks
  • Proficient with Microsoft suite software (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, etc.)
  • General knowledge of the manufacturing and construction industries
  • Experience with pipe and pipeline design and/or concrete pipe manufacturing would be considered an asset.
