Reporting to the Fleet Supervisor, the AZ Driver is responsible for operating and driving tractor-trailer flatbed trucks to transport and deliver DECAST infrastructure products. The AZ Driver assists with the preparation of plan trip logistics and obtaining required documentation for transportation, performing pre-trip, en-route and post-trip inspections, ensuring products are loaded and secured properly and in accordance with safety requirements.

The AZ Driver assists with the preparation of plan trip logistics and obtaining required documentation for transportation, performing pre-trip, en-route and post-trip inspections, ensuring products are loaded and secured properly and in accordance with safety requirements.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Operate and drive tractor-trailer flat bed and/ or float load trucks weighing over 40,000kg to transport goods and materials to customers
- Plan trip logistics and obtain required documentation to transport products
- Communicate with dispatcher, other drivers and customers using communication devices
- Ensure products are secured properly in accordance with company procedures and safety requirements
- Operate boom trailers to assist with product loading/ unloading
- Perform pre-trip, en-route and post-trip inspection of vehicle systems equipment and accessories such as tires, lights and turning signals, and brakes.
Skills, Education & Experience
- OSSD or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited driver training course of up to three months duration, through a vocational school or community college, is considered an asset.
- Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience operating an AZ certified tractor-trailer flat bed and/ or float load trucks
- Class 1 or A license
- Air brake endorsement (Z)
- Insurance requires candidates to be at least 25 years old.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, together with the ability to use tact and discretion and to deal courteously and effectively with the public and fellow staff members.
- Ability to cope with interruptions, work under pressure to meet delivery deadlines, exercise discretion and good judgment particularly when operating tractor-trailer/ equipment.
- Through working knowledge of applicable safety guidelines and equipment available to complete daily tasks (i.e. safety footwear and High-Visibility MTO approved personal protective equipment, etc.)
- Possess a current CVOR and Driver's Abstract with results satisfactory to the employer
