The Structural Engineer, under the direction of the Engineering Manager, is responsible for the project design and product drawings for multiple current projects for DECAST customers. Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop product designs based on specifications provided by customers
- Prepare reports, drawings/ blueprints and technical specifications for projects
- Ensure that design plans meet or exceed legislative requirements (including but not limited to MTO, CSA standards/ regulations)
- Inspect/ investigate design flaws and production issues
- Collaborate with members within the department on daily tasks for seamless production and project execution
- Communicate with fellow staff including technical, professional, and upper management regarding project deliverables
- Plan and prioritize engineering tasks to support project schedules
Skills, Education & Experience
- Completion of a bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical or Architectural Engineering from a Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board (CEAB) certified institution
- Valid P. Eng license issued by Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO)
- Minimum of four (4) years’ engineering experience working in a comparable industry
- Computer proficiency and working knowledge of software systems (e.g., SOLIDWORKS, AutoCAD, Excel, MIDAS Civil etc.)
- Experience with tendering process, engineering design and drafting, and production processes
- Organized and detail oriented with effective problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication skills

- Range of pay for this position is $80,000 - $100,000 annually
- We recognize that top talent may exceed the parameters of this role. For the right candidate, we are open to expanding the scope and adjusting compensation to reflect their experience and expertise.
