We are looking for a Shipping Clerk to join our team in Utopia, ON. The Shipping Clerk will be responsible for providing department support related to seamless processing of outgoing shipments. The responsibilities include maintaining shipping documents, processing paperwork, reporting and tracking shipping information, and reviewing product loads for accuracy. The Shipping Clerk uses effective communication, organization, and attention to detail skills to provide effective clerical support to the Shipping Department.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Process all required paperwork and maintain adequate records for reporting and tracking.
  • Maintain filing of shipping documents.
  • Review loads created by the shipping staff prior to shipment
  • Confirm product measurements are correct
  • Ensure Loader Staff have accurate information to load the correct products
  • Ensure shipments contain the proper documentation for delivery
  • Prepare shipping documentation as assigned.
  • Follow current standards and procedures. that shipments contain proper documentation and if multiple items per shipment, ensure item lists are complete.
  • Generate daily drivers rosters for drivers and managers
  • Produce the benching and carousel schedule for the Coring Production Department
  • Organize and sort all load sheets for the Accounting Department
  • Problem solves for any cases of missing documents, shipments, and deliveries.
  • Maintain organized work area according to policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
  • Responsible for maintaining office supplies and kitchen supplies for the shipping department
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills, Education & Experience
  • Completion of a post-secondary education program in Business or a related field, OR; equivalent work experience
  • Previous experience working in a Shipping role will be considered an asset
  • Strong clerical and administrative skills
  • Computer literacy and proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word)
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Effective communication abilities
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Working at DECAST
  • The salary range for this position is $45,000 - $55,000 per year
