Status : Permanent – Full-time
Schedule : 5/2 rotation – room and board provided at camp
Work Location: Agnico Eagle Mine Detour Lake near Cochrane, Ontario
Duties and Responsibilities
- Have health and safety as a core value and effectively communicate its importance to the team.
- Lead the Detour Lake project by planning, organizing, directing, and controlling all crushing operations.
- Perform effectively under pressure, remain solution-oriented, support the team, and prioritize to ensure 24/7 project performance.
- Establish work schedules, allocate tasks, manage on-site workforce relations, and collaborate closely with HR on recruitment.
- Monitor wear parts inventory, ensure proper procurement, and oversee timely replacement.
- Work closely with operators, foremen, project managers, senior management, and the client to optimize site operations and strengthen teamwork.
- Drive operations with a preventive mindset rather than a reactive one.
- Oversee plant operations in close collaboration with the mechanical team to manage repairs and maintenance efficiently.
- Establish and maintain up-to-date mechanical work lists during planned shutdowns and regularly review priorities.
- Ensure personnel have the necessary resources to achieve company objectives.
- Uphold company culture and values, contributing to a respectful, harmonious, and stimulating work environment.
- Collaborate closely with management on HR-related matters, providing strategic support, addressing behavioral concerns promptly, and ensuring disciplined and professional file management.
- Build and shape a strong, high-performing team composed of competent, engaged, and complementary members, fostering autonomy and succession planning to ensure leadership continuity.
- Act as a mentor and active support resource by remaining accessible to supervisors and providing guidance in urgent or complex situations.
Requirements
- 8 years of experience as a Crushing Foreman or Project Manager
- Bilingual – English and French
- Demonstrated leadership, excellent communication skills, versatility, and strong team orientation
- Proficiency with computer tools, including Microsoft Office
