Based in Montreal for over 100 years, the McCord Stewart Museum bears witness to the history of the city — Quebec's metropolis — its influence across Canada and around the world, and the vitality, creativity, and diversity of the individuals and communities that make it up.

It amplifies their voices through the interpretation and dissemination of the remarkable heritage it safeguards: six collections comprising 3.2 million images, objects, documents, and works of art that position it as one of the leading museums in North America.

Committed to a process of decolonization and to implementing sustainable museum practices, it designs exhibitions and stimulating educational, cultural, and civic activities that offer a critical and inclusive perspective on social history and contemporary issues, encouraging action toward a more just society.
