In the position of Automation Technician, you will be primarily responsible for carrying out various automation projects and solving issues that hinder our clients’ operations. More precisely, you will have to :
- Participate in the execution of various automation projects;
- Contribute to the design of automated systems;
- Program all types of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for different products, as well as operator interfaces (HMI);
- Commission programmed systems at client sites: validate programming against client requirements, perform troubleshooting, modifications, and configurations;
- Respond to service calls at various client locations;
- Perform pre-operational checks in the workshop;
- Carry out preventive maintenance in the plant;
- Prepare maintenance and/or technical reports;
- Calibrate instruments;
- Diagnose and improve systems or resolve technical issues;
- Install and operate standard and specialized equipment;
- Calibrate electrical components and instruments according to technical manuals;
- Act as a specialist during personnel rental assignments;
- Identify and communicate technical problems;
- Comply with health and safety guidelines at work;
- Perform any other related tasks.
REQUIREMENTS
- Hold a college diploma in electrical engineering, industrial electronics, an Attestation of College Studies (ACS) in industrial automation, or any other equivalent combination of education and experience;
- Have 5 years of experience in a similar position;
- Experience in programming PLCs and operator interfaces;
- Knowledge of industrial networking;
- Be fluent in French and English, both spoken and written, in order to communicate effectively with partners outside Quebec;
- Hold a C licence (non-construction);
- Knowledge of Siemens programming;
- Hold an ASP Construction certification;
- Hold a valid driver’s licence;
- Be available to travel to client sites.
