As Director of the Project Management Office (PMO), your primary mandate will be the overall performance of client projects, which represent a key driver of Génik’s revenue and profitability. The incumbent ensures financial discipline, project predictability, and governance, while aligning execution with the company’s business strategy and operational capacity. More specifically, you will be responsible for the following:
Strategic Vision & Organizational Alignment
• Define the vision and project management standards in alignment with the strategic plan.
• Contribute to the annual planning of project revenues and margins.
• Ensure alignment between Sales, operational capacity, and execution priorities.
• Recommend structured improvements to project management processes.
Financial Performance & Governance
• Be accountable for the financial performance of projects.
• Ensure achievement of target margins and cost control.
• Structure and lead monthly performance review meetings.
• Monitor and implement key performance indicators, including performance indices (CPI, SPI), delivery metrics (OTD, OQD, OCD), margin, backlog, and forecasts.
• Intervene quickly in the event of significant variances.
• Ensure customer satisfaction.
Project Team Leadership
• Supervise Project Managers.
• Develop competencies in financial and contract management.
• Foster a culture of accountability and transparency.
• Plan succession and talent development based on project requirements and company growth, in collaboration with discipline leaders.
Lean & Daily Management System (DMS)
• Deploy and maintain the DMS within the Project Management Office.
• Ensure visual management and project predictability.
• Structure escalation and problem-solving routines.
• Identify and eliminate waste within project processes.
• Manage internal and external non-conformities.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Work closely with the Director of Operations to synchronize capacity and priorities.
• Collaborate with Sales to validate the feasibility and profitability of opportunities.
• Work with Operations to ensure execution capacity and stability.
• Ensure a smooth transition to post-delivery services.
• Partner with Finance to ensure forecast reliability.
• Collaborate with HR and IT to support overall organizational performance.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or other relevant field.
• PMP certification (major asset).
• Graduate-level education (asset).
Experience
• 10 to 15 years of experience managing complex projects.
• Proven experience in profitability improvement.
• Experience with complex integrated projects (mechanical engineering and automation).
• Experience in Lean transformation.
