Setec Proxima is a renowned project planning firm specializing in the efficient management of complex projects in various industrial sectors. We are looking for a Senior Project Planner to join our innovative team.
 

SUMMARY:

Under the authority of the Chief PCO, Infrastructure Projects, the incumbent is responsible for producing, maintaining, and monitoring the planning of construction projects in terms of schedule, budget, and required human and material resources. Additionally, they will work closely with project managers to ensure effective planning.
 

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participates in the development of the project schedule with project managers and is responsible for optimizing the sequencing of project activities to facilitate implementation and progress;
  • Assists the Chief in managing the capacity of the technical resources within the vice-presidency, identifies issues and risks, and proposes solutions after analysis;
  • Works closely with project managers by advising them on planning regarding the schedule, budget, and required resources for each project;
  • Analyzes discrepancies between the project plan and reality, suggesting areas for improvement and offering multiple solutions;
  • Assists the Chief in coordinating change requests within construction teams, identifies capacity issues, and proposes solutions;
  • Ensures the monitoring and control of project indicators, including content, schedule, budget, risks, and the capacity of human and material resources;
  • Integrates project change requests, evaluates their impacts, and revises the plan accordingly using MS Project and EPM;
  • Participates in defining the content of a construction project, identifies discrepancies between the plan and reality, and provides advice to project team members;
  • Oversees the quality control of data, ensures the validity and integrity of information with relevant stakeholders, and produces progress reports;
  • Suggests improvement tools adapted to the observations and planning needs, as well as schedule monitoring based on the organization’s resource capacity;
  • Assumes other tasks and responsibilities inherent to the position.
     

REQUIREMENTS:

  • A bachelor’s degree in administration, finance, engineering, mathematics, statistics, or a related field;
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of relevant experience, including experience related to planning, maintaining, and monitoring construction projects;
  • A master’s degree in project management or certification in PMP, or a relevant project management certification (CAPM, Prince2, etc.) (an asset);
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, MS Project, and SharePoint;
  • Good knowledge of the EPM tool;
  • Good knowledge of SAP and Primavera project management modules (an asset);
  • Excellent command of French and English (spoken and written);
  • Demonstrates flexibility and a strong team spirit;
  • Strong communication skills and good interpersonal relationships in a multidisciplinary environment and customer service context;
  • Strong leadership and negotiation skills related to conflict resolution;
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of rigor;
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and priority management skills.
