Setec Proxima is a renowned project planning firm, specializing in the efficient management of complex projects across various industrial sectors. We are seeking Project Planner  to join our innovative team.

As a Project Planner at Setec Proxima, you will contribute to the success of large-scale projects by developing precise and well-structured plans and work packages. Specifically, your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing detailed process plans, including time estimate analysis and identification of required tools and materials.

  • Analyzing technical documents, drawings, and specifications to determine tasks while respecting time, cost, and resource constraints.

  • Conducting site visits to ensure work meets standards and that necessary information is communicated to production teams.

  • Recording observations and feedback on work execution to optimize plans and procedures for future projects.

  • Collaborating with supervisors and other stakeholders to resolve issues related to execution, materials, equipment, or procedures.

  • Comparing actual labor hours and material usage with estimates to identify and justify discrepancies.

  • Developing practical knowledge of machinery, sheet metal, welding, piping, electrical work, surface coating and painting, as well as basic procurement and purchasing.

  • Gaining expertise in complex systems and equipment such as high-temperature and high-pressure piping, hydraulic and vacuum systems, tanks, and circulation pumps.

  • Reviewing plans and estimates as work progresses and ensuring the availability of necessary supplies and equipment.

  • Organizing information and material requirements into clear, accessible work packages for production teams.

  • Monitoring work package budgets and providing regular reports on project status and progress.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in a similar role, or relevant education combined with at least 2 years of related experience.

  • Advanced proficiency in common office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Experience with ERP or scheduling software.

  • Ability to collaborate across departments in a multidisciplinary environment.

  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and teamwork orientation.

  • Ability to successfully complete security clearance processes required for certain projects.

Language Requirements: Proficiency in French is required for this position. English proficiency is also necessary due to the nature of the role, including communication with international clients, reading technical documents, and collaborating with colleagues outside Quebec.
