Job Description

Are you passionate about planning large-scale projects in the fields of shipbuilding, steel, or piping? Join our team as a Senior Scheduler.

In this key role, you will be responsible for the creation, monitoring, and analysis of planning and scheduling activities for major projects.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Lead Scheduler in coordinating project interfaces and delivering schedule-related outputs.

  • Develop, monitor, and analyze project schedules in line with approved project baselines.

  • Prepare progress and performance reports in accordance with contractual requirements.

  • Provide analytical support for variance reporting, forecasting, risk mitigation, and delay management.

  • Create project schedules including WBS, key milestones, and reporting baselines.

  • Ensure compliance with internal planning processes and procedures.

  • Analyze the scheduling impacts of project changes and identify potential claims.

 

Profile Sought

  • College diploma in engineering or a related technical field.

  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in project scheduling, preferably in steel, piping, or shipbuilding industries.

  • Proficiency with Primavera P6 and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • In-depth knowledge of planning methodologies (AACE, PMI / PMBOK).

  • Experience with various types of projects including new builds, modular fabrication, and repair work.

  • Solid understanding of the full project lifecycle, from scope definition to commissioning.

  • Knowledge of earned value management (CPI, SPI, EAC, etc.).

  • Ability to obtain security clearance required under the Canadian federal government’s Contract Security Program.
