The Rigger - Survey and inspection Team is responsible for conducting aerial surveys using a drone to inspect telecommunication structures. This role works closely with the Quality Control Manager and reports any anomalies observed in the field. The incumbent must comply with common installation standards and guidelines for aerial structure inspections.
Work Schedule
- Must be available to travel from Monday to Friday (with the possibility of 10 consecutive days of work).
Work Location
- Travel required to job sites across Western Canada (British Columbia and Alberta).
Responsibilities
- Perform aerial surveys using a drone on telecommunication structures and prospective client buildings.
- Complete detailed inspection reports.
- Apply outside plant (OSP) principles in accordance with technical specifications and industry standards.
- Report any detected anomalies to the immediate supervisor.
- Participate in updates of the technical specifications.
- Verify and ensure the accuracy of measuring instruments (calibration).
- Collaborate with all departments to maintain effective communication and teamwork;
- Promote and contribute to a safe, respectful, and continuously improving work environment;
- Perform any other reasonable and related duties normally assigned to a Telecom Rigger, in accordance with their skills, competencies, and physical ability.
Hiring Requirements
- Possess a valid Class 5 driver’s license (or equivalent).
- Advanced Drone Pilot certification.
- Comfortable working at heights, including vertical and horizontal movement on steel or wood structures.
- Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety on Construction Sites (ASP Construction).
- Proficiency with IT equipment and data processing software.
- Willingness to travel frequently and work outside the home region from Monday to Friday.
