Job Description

As a Senior Scheduler, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of scheduling activities related to naval repair projects and programs. You will ensure the creation, monitoring, and analysis of project schedules, in compliance with established scheduling processes and procedures.

 

Responsibilities

  • Lead scheduling activities for naval repair projects and programs
  • Develop Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), key milestones, and project baselines
  • Create, update, monitor, and analyze schedules based on approved baselines
  • Produce required progress and performance reports (quality, analysis, monitoring)
  • Support trend analysis, risk analysis, schedule delays, and mitigation measures
  • Understand and use IT and automation tools related to planning and tracking
  • Identify schedule issues related to management changes and potential claims
  • Ensure compliance with company scheduling processes and procedures
  • Supervise and support a team of schedulers, as required
 

Requirements

  • University or college degree in Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related field
  • Minimum of 20 years of experience in scheduling and project controls
  • 8 to 10 years of experience in naval scheduling/planning (construction or repair) — major asset
  • Excellent command of Primavera P6 and MS Project
  • Strong knowledge of scheduling and monitoring methodologies (AACE, PMI / PMBOK)
  • Very strong earned value management skills (CPI, SPI, EAC, etc.)
  • In-depth understanding of the link between scope, estimating, and commissioning
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment
  • Team management skills and ability to achieve objectives/KPIs
  • Ability to obtain the required security clearance under the Canadian Federal Government’s Contract Security Program
