Canada Games: Quebec, 2027

The Canada Games are the country’s largest multi-sport competition and will bring together more than 3,500 high-calibre athletes and coaches in Quebec City from February 27 to March 14, 2027, across 22 sports. Held every two years, alternating between summer and winter, the Games celebrate the perseverance and sportsmanship of young Canadian athletes.

Your Role

History is made with the right people. As Volunteer Services Coordinator, you’ll be part of a passionate team of over 4,500 volunteers dedicated to creating unforgettable memories for athletes and visitors alike.

You will have a unique opportunity to leverage your talent and your skills to:

  • Play an active role in volunteer recruitment: implement the action plan, take part in on-site recruitment activities, and proudly represent the Games in the community.
  • Support all volunteer programs: youth, family, corporate, and community.
  • Collaborate with local partners to attract and engage volunteers from all walks of life.
  • Design and implement the volunteer orientation and training plan from the very first introduction to the final thank-you handshake.
  • Lead the implementation of the volunteer communication plan (newsletters, guides, tools, key messages, and digital platforms) to keep volunteers informed, engaged, and motivated.
  • Work hand in hand with the Communications team to ensure every message is clear, inspiring, and reflects the spirit of the Games.
  • Take part in on-the-ground recruitment activations (events, kiosks, community activities) and serve as an ambassador for the Games.
  • Contribute to ongoing volunteer recognition efforts during the planning phase (follow-ups, personalized messages, highlighting contributions).
  • Create and implement the volunteer recognition plan: celebrations, thank-you moments, and legendary experiences that make our volunteers shine.
  • Support all internal teams to ensure every volunteer feels valued, supported, and truly part of the journey.
  • Tackle unexpected challenges with creativity and energy as they arise along the way.

Keys to success

Want to join our team? Here's what it takes:

  • DEC (Diploma of College Studies) in recreation, communications, project management, event management, or a related field (a university degree is an asset);
  • 2–3 years of experience in event management, human resources, communications or volunteer coordination.
  • Experience in sports, community, or cultural events (an asset).
  • Experience in training, group facilitation, or community engagement (an asset).
  • Comfort with digital tools and management systems (experience with accreditation or volunteer management software is an asset).
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively, manage multiple priorities, and stay calm under pressure.
  • Strong written and spoken in French and English.
  • Criminal background check required.
  • Authorization to work in Canada.
