Canada Games: Québec, 2027

The Canada Games are the country’s largest multi-sport competition and will bring together more than 3,500 high-calibre athletes and coaches in Quebec City from February 27 to March 14, 2027, across 22 sports. Held every two years, alternating between summer and winter, the Games celebrate the perseverance and sportsmanship of young Canadian athletes.

Your Role
Ready to be part of history? You will play a key role in managing and optimizing the technology infrastructure for the Games, working closely with various partners and vendors.
This position serves as the cornerstone for coordinating IT services provided by the City to ensure the smooth running of the 2027 Canada Games.


Under the supervision of the IT Advisor, your talent and energy will enable you to:

Technology Infrastructure Management
  • Participate in the planning, development, and optimization of technology infrastructure;
  • Monitor, identify, and resolve network infrastructure issues;
  • Deploy and oversee backup systems as needed;
  • Manage all IT equipment and applications, ensuring rigorous inventory tracking;
  • Contribute to the procurement and installation of IT and telecommunications hardware, as well as required software.
Technical Support
  • Collaborate with internal teams, the Canada Games Committee, and the City of Québec to deploy technology solutions;
  • Participate in the implementation and oversight of the Games Management System (GEMPRO);
  • Work with the sports functional area and sports organizations to analyze needs and deploy timing and results systems;
  • Implement measures to secure information assets and protect personal data;
  • Contribute to ongoing IT projects and provide technical support;
  • Provide continuous technology support to staff and volunteers.
User Training and Support
  • Supervise and train IT volunteer delegates assigned to various sites;
  • Ensure optimal knowledge transfer and promote team autonomy;
  • Participate in the preparation and facilitation of monthly meetings with all IT volunteer delegates for the Games.
Incident Management and Documentation
  • Track and intervene in the resolution of 2nd- and 3rd-level incidents;
  • Act as a liaison with external vendors, the City of Québec, and the Canada Games Committee when required;
  • Maintain comprehensive and detailed documentation of operating and service delivery processes;
  • Produce required reports and ensure proper accountability.
Keys to success

  • College diploma in computer science, Business Administration (Information Systems Management), or a related field;
  • 3 years of relevant experience;
  • Extensive experience in coordinating IT activities, including network and information systems management;
  • Ensure adherence to best practices, security standards, and project deadlines;
  • Excellent command of French (spoken and written) and intermediate English proficiency;
  • Authorization to work in Canada;
  • Criminal background check required (conducted by the Host Society).
