Canada Games: Quebec 2027

The Canada Games are the country’s largest multi-sport competition and will bring together more than 3,500 high-calibre athletes and coaches in Quebec City from February 27 to March 14, 2027, across 22 sports. Held every two years, alternating between summer and winter, the Games celebrate the perseverance and sportsmanship of young Canadian athletes.

Your Role

History is made with the right people. 

The Canada Games 2027 are seeking a passionate Communications Coordinator to help amplify the story of the Games across Québec and Canada.

Under the direction of the Director, Communications and Events, your role will be to:

  • Prepare and revise internal and external publications, such as media kits, newsletters, and other documents.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing team and the Social Media Coordinator to manage the Games’ various accounts and monitor online engagement.
  • Provide first-line customer service by responding to inquiries received through general email inboxes.
  • Serve on the Venue Management Committee and represent the media relations functional area at sport venues during the Games.
  • Coordinate and train planning volunteers, and collaborate in the training of media relations volunteers.
  • Contribute to the planning and coordination of the Host Society’s media activities.
  • Support the development and rollout of communication initiatives aligned with the Host Society’s various communication plans.
  • Assist with the planning of Host Society events as needed.
  • Monitor media coverage and compile press reviews.
  • In collaboration with the Official Languages Coordinator, contribute as needed to the revision and proofreading of documents in both French and English.

  • College or technical diploma in Communications, Public Relations, or a related field (university degree considered an asset).
  • Three years of experience in communications.
  • Experience in the event industry is considered an asset.
  • Strong writing skills and attention to details.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to work independently.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Ability to identify potential issues and contribute to their prevention.
  • Strong attention to detail, rigour, and professionalism.
  • Professional proficiency in English and French, both oral and written.
  • Criminal background check required (completed by Host Society).
