Canada Games: Québec, 2027

The Canada Games are the country’s largest multi-sport competition and will bring together more than 3,500 high-calibre athletes and coaches in Quebec City from February 27 to March 14, 2027, across 22 sports. Held every two years, alternating between summer and winter, the Games celebrate the perseverance and sportsmanship of young Canadian athletes.

Your Role

History is made with the right people. As a Technician, Accountingyou will play a direct role in supporting the organization’s sound financial management. Thanks to your attention to details, accuracy and ability to manage priorities effectively, you will help ensure the proper processing of accounting operations while supporting the team in maintaining processes, deadlines and financial obligations.

Reporting to the Director, Accounting, your main responsibilities will include:

Bookkeeping and bank reconciliations

  • Record financial transactions, including revenues, expenses and journal entries;
  • Maintain up-to-date accounting records;
  • File and archive supporting documents, such as invoices, receipts and other records;
  • Review and reconcile bank statements with accounting entries;
  • Identify and correct discrepancies.

Management of accounts payable and receivable

  • Process vendor invoices, including validation, entry and payment;
  • Issue invoices to clients;
  • Monitor accounts receivable and incoming payments;
  • Follow up on overdue payments.

Financial reporting and tax compliance

  • Prepare financial statements on a monthly and quarterly basis;
  • Produce management reports for leadership;
  • Support the budget preparation process;
  • Calculate and file sales tax returns (GST/QST);
  • Process remittances to tax authorities;
  • Ensure compliance with tax deadlines.

Administrative and financial support

  • Collaborate with the accountant or CPA;
  • Participate in audits;
  • Contribute to the improvement of internal procedures and controls;

Keys to success

  • DEC (Diploma of College Studies) in Accounting or a related field;
  • 3 years of experience in a similar role (NPO is an asset);
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and knowledge of accounting software (Sage is an asset);
  • Authorization to work in Canada;
  • Criminal background check required.
