Canada Games: Québec, 2027

The Canada Games are the country’s largest multi-sport competition and will bring together more than 3,500 high-calibre athletes and coaches in Quebec City from February 27 to March 14, 2027, across 22 sports. Held every two years, alternating between summer and winter, the Games celebrate the perseverance and sportsmanship of young Canadian athletes.

Your Role

History is made with the right people. As an Accounting Assistant, you’ll play a key role on the team in helping tomorrow’s champions enjoy an unforgettable experience in an energetic and stimulating environment. With your attention to detail and organizational skills, you’ll help ensure that athletes have a seamless, positive, and memorable experience during the Games.

Under the supervision of the Director, Accounting, your talent and energy will enable you to:

  • Perform various administrative tasks according to established methods and procedures;
  • Ensure compliance with applicable financial standards, policies, regulations, and procedures;
  • Provide administrative follow-up on purchases made by the various teams;
  • Complete purchases on behalf of staff when required;
  • Review and validate invoices, purchase orders, and other administrative documents;
  • Collect, validate, compile, and update required financial and administrative data;
  • Enter and update information in financial systems;
  • Provide administrative support to the Finance team in the preparation of files, reports, and documents;
  • Support Venue Directors in applying current administrative and financial procedures while ensuring timely follow-up of files;
  • During the Games, conduct regular visits to competition venues to support Venue Directors and venue teams with purchase processing, including collecting supporting documentation, verifying compliance, and ensuring submission to the Finance team;
  • Support the management of ad hoc requests and contribute to resolving issues in a dynamic environment.

Keys to success

  • College diploma in accounting, administrative assistant, or any other relevant field; 
  • One year of relevant experience in a similar role, or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • Proficiency with computer tools (Google Workspace);
  • Basic knowledge of accounting;
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment;
  • Strong command of French, both spoken and written; English is an asset;
  • Authorization to work in Canada;
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check required.
