Role

We are looking for a full-time Paralegal to join the Banking and Finance Group of our Montreal office. As part of our team, you will be responsible for delivering quality paralegal services in connection with our clients’ business transactions, working closely with the firm’s legal team and clients on some of the highest-profile financing transactions nationally.

 

Your next challenges:

  • Conduct the following searches, analyse search results and prepare written reports and summaries:Provincial Business Profiles - REQ and other provinces, Corporations Canada, RDPRM, LSFP, Bank Act Registry, SOQUIJ, Land Registry, taxes, superintendent of Bankrupcy, Municipal evaluations and taxes, CIPO, etc.
  • Prepare and file registrations and discharges for publication:
  • Assist in drafting documentation required to support financing transactions
  • Attend to post-closing matters, including constructions draws/advances
  • Assist generally with all matters relating to the firm’s banking and finance practice, as well as with client development initiatives

 

 

Who are we looking for?

  • Diploma of Collegial Studies (DCS) in Paralegal Technique or equivalent diploma
  • At least five (5) years experience working as a Paralegal in a banking or finance department.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in French and English, ability to communicate in a professional manner with clients and team members
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Highly proficient at Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Outlook, Word and Excel)
