We are currently looking for permanent Drill Mechanics to join our client's team!

Under the direction of his foreman, the mechanic will be assigned responsibilities for the inspection, modification, repair, improvement and maintenance of drilling equipment.

The main tasks that will be entrusted to him are:

  • Planning and carrying out the work;
  • Detection and repair of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic problems;
  • Occasional welding work;
  • Reading plans and preventive maintenance;
  • The choice and installation of components.

Working conditions and benefits:

  • Work schedule of 14 working days, followed by 14 days off, alternating day and night. The work shifts are 12 hours;
  • Permanent full-time position;
  • Hourly salary between 46.00$ and 54.00$;
  • Overtime paid (time and a half rate) for hours worked over 40 hours per week and for work performed on Saturday and Sunday;
  • Transportation allowance of 0.52$/km for the distance between your home and the mine;
  • Buses are available for the worker's transportation from Sudbury and Timmins (Expense account for travel between home and the bus stop offered by employer);
  • A parking is available near the site for workers who would like to drive to the site;
  • Room and board provided at the worksite;
  • Tools are supplied by the mine;
  • Work clothes and PPI are provided at the hiring;

Requirements:
  • Having a professional diploma in mobile machinery mechanic or a college diploma in mechanic, mandatory;
  • Having a minimum of 5 years of experience in heavy-duty mechanic;
  • Having a minimum of 2 years of experience on Epiroc drills (D65 and Pit Viper), mandatory;
  • Having a Red Seal certification (Heavy Duty Equipment technician 421A) an asset;
  • Having work as a mechanic on open-pit mine's machinery, an asset;
  • Being able to read mechanical drawing and schematics and have knowledge of hydraulics, electricity and welding;
  • Being a team player;
  • Having strong troubleshooting skills;
  • Being able to work in different type of environnement (main garage, satellite garage, service truck):
  • Having worked in the mining industry is an asset.
