We are currently looking for an Auxiliary Equipment Mechanic to complete our client's team in Meadowbank.

Responsabilities: 

Under the supervision of the mobile maintenance supervisor, the auxiliary equipment mechanic will be assigned responsibilities for the inspection, modification, repair, improvement and maintenance of various mobile equipments such has:

  • Prévost buses;
  • Bluebird school buses;
  • Forklifts;
  • Highway trucks and trailers;
  • Hysters, dozers, telehandlers, man basket (aerial platform), graders.
 
  • Planning and carrying out the work;
  • Troubleshooting and repair of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic problems;
  • Occasional welding work;
  • Reading drawings and schematics
  • Performing preventive maintenance;
  • Choose and install mechanical components

Requirements:

  • Having a professional diploma in mobile machinery mechanic or a college diploma in mechanic;
  • Having a minimum of 5 years of experience in repairing all type of machinery list above ;
  • Having a Red Seal certification (Heavy Duty Equipement Technician (412A) or Truck and Coach Journeyman (310T),an asset;
  • Being able to read mechanical drawing and schematics and have knowledge of hydraulics, electricity and welding;
  • Being a team player;
  • Having strong troubleshooting skills;
  • Being able to work on alternating shifts (day/night);
  • Being able to work in different type of environnement (main garage, satellite garage, service truck...):
  • Being able to work outside in nordic cold temperature;
  • Having worked in the mining industry is an asset.

Working conditions and benefits:

  • Permanent full-time position;
  • Work schedule of 14 working days, followed by 14 days off. The work shifts are 12 hours, alternating day and night;
  • Fly-in / Fly-out: Workers can take the plane at Mirabel airport or at Val-d'Or airport;
  • Room and board provided at the worksite;
  • Air travel and hotel allowance offered between home and above-mentioned airports;
  • Tools and work equipment supplied at the site;
  • Salary depending on experience, between 100 000$ to 135 000$, including overtime;
  • Overtime (time and a half) for hours worked in excess of 40 hours per week, for work performed on Saturday and Sunday as well as on statutory holidays;
  • Group insurance and pension plan;
  • Work clothing allowance!
