We are currently looking for a heady duty mechanic for our client Amaruq mine.
Under the direction of his foreman, the mechanic will be assigned responsibilities for the inspection, modification, repair, improvement and maintenance of underground and open pit mining mobile machinery.
The main tasks that will be entrusted to him are:
- Planning and carrying out the work;
- Detection and repair of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic problems;
- Occasional welding work;
- Reading plans and preventive maintenance;
- The choice and installation of components.
- Temporary full-time position;
- Hourly salary between $40.00 and $55.00,depending on experience and qualifications;
- Night premium of $1.00/h;
- Time and half paid after 40 hours work per week and for work done outside the normal schedule;
- 4 hours paid at the entrance and the exit of the mine site (travel time);
- 14 days on / 14 days off rotation;
- 12-hour shifts (day and night shifts depending on operational needs);
- Fly-in / Fly-out work schedule;
- Transportation to and from the mine site provided (charter flight and/or ground transportation depending on employee's location);
- Travel allowance package;
- Camp accommodations and meals provided;
- Work clothing and personal protective equipment (PPE) provided;

Requirements:
- Have professional diploma in Heavy-Duty Mechanic or Truck and Coach Mechanic;
- Have an Ontario Provincial/Interprovincial Red Seal (421A or 310T) certification, considered an asset;
- Have a minimum of 5 years of experience working on mobile equipment in a mining or industrial environment;
- Have experience in the mining industry, considered an asset;
- Show strong mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills;
- Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices;
- Ability to work independently with strong organizational and time management skills;
- Experience working at a remote work site is considered an asset;
- Ability to work on a rotating schedule.
