THE OPPORTUNITY

Are you an experienced Truck and Coach Technician looking to put your diesel diagnostic and mechanical expertise to work in a unique mining environment?

We are currently looking for a Truck and Coach Technician (Red Seal / 310T) to support the maintenance operations at Agnico-Eagle's Meadowbank mine in Nunavut.

Reporting to the Maintenance Foreman, you will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing and maintaining heavy-duty transport trucks and trailers. Your expertise will contribute directly to equipment reliability, operational efficiency and the safe operation of the mine's transportation fleet.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan and perform scheduled inspections, preventive maintenance and repairs on diesel trucks and heavy-duty trailers;
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and hydraulic issues affecting fleet equipment;
  • Perform preventive maintenance according to manufacturer specifications and mine-site standards;
  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings, hydraulic schematics and electrical diagrams;
  • Carry out occasional welding, fabrication and equipment modification work;
  • Select and install appropriate OEM or aftermarket components to improve equipment performance and reliability;
  • Collaborate with the maintenance team to identify mechanical improvements and minimize equipment downtime;
  • Ensure all work complies with mine-site health and safety procedures and maintenance standards;
  • Perform other related duties as required.

WHAT YOU BRING

Education and experience

  • Hold a Truck and Coach Technician certification (Red Seal / 310T) or a diploma in Heavy-Duty Equipment Mechanics / Mobile Machinery;
  • Have a minimum of 5 years of experience working with an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), such as Kenworth, Peterbilt, Freightliner, Mack or Volvo, mandatory;
  • Have previous experience in the mining or forestry industry, mandatory.

Qualifications and technical knowledge

  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems and electrical components;
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, hydraulic schematics and electrical diagrams;
  • Experience in mechanical troubleshooting, diagnostics and preventive maintenance;
  • Practical welding and fabrication skills;
  • Ability to work a 14 days on / 14 days off FIFO rotation, alternating between day and night shifts.

WHAT WE OFFER

  • Employment: Permanent, full-time position;
  • Schedule: 14 days on / 14 days off (FIFO);
  • Shifts: 12-hour shifts, alternating days and nights;
  • Salary: $41.86 to $50.50 per hour, based on experience and applicable classification;
  • Overtime: Paid at 1.5x for hours exceeding 40 per week, weekends and statutory holidays;
  • Night shift premium: $1.00 per hour;
  • Transportation: Fly-In/Fly-Out flights provided from Mirabel or Val-d'Or airports;
  • Travel allowance: Paid upon arrival at and departure from the mine site;
  • Accommodations: Camp lodging and meals provided;
  • Tools and equipment: Provided on site;
