WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

We are currently seeking a Health and Safety Advisor to join our growing company. The Health and Safety Advisor is responsible for the administrative and operational management of occupational health and safety cases, including workplace injuries, CNESST claims, disability files, and return-to-work processes. The role ensures compliance with Québec legislation while supporting employees and managers through effective case follow-up, documentation, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

CNESST Case Management & Administration

· Prepare, submit, and track CNESST documentation (accident reports, claim forms, employer notices).

· Act as the primary contact with external partners, CNESST caseworkers, insurers.

· Monitor claim status, timelines, and required follow-ups to ensure compliance and accuracy.

· Support the organization during CNESST audits, requests, or inspections from an administrative perspective.

Disability & Return-to-Work Coordination

· Coordinate return-to-work and temporary assignment programs in collaboration with HR and management.

· Manage preventive withdrawal of pregnant employees cases.

· Maintain contact with injured employees and support their reintegration process.

· Monitor medical limitations and ensure appropriate accommodation is implemented.

· Track absences related to workplace injuries and illnesses.

Reporting & Documentation

· Maintain accurate and confidential occupational health and safety records.

· Track injury statistics, CNESST costs, and trends for internal reporting purposes.

· Prepare monthly and annual health and safety administrative reports.

· Ensure documentation complies with Québec legal requirements.

Training & Awareness

· Develop and deliver health and safety training (e.g., WHMIS, PPE, prevention plan, safe work procedures, Law 27)

· Lead Health and Safety Committee meetings and activities

· Promote a strong safety culture and employee engagement

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE YOU SHOULD POSSESS:

· Bachelor’s degree in industrial relations, HR, Health and Safety or any related field

· 5-7 years of experience in Health and Safety

· Solid experience managing H&S cases in a manufacturing/production environment

· Solid knowledge of OHS legislation (LSST, LATMP)

· Excellent written and verbal skills in French and English as communications outside Quebec are required

· Full proficiency in MS Office (Word; Excel; Outlook)

· Excellent organizational skills
