Location: Plattsburgh, NY (with travel to Canada, including some overnight)

Salary Range: $75,000 - $85,000 annually

The Industrial Methods Supervisor is responsible for leading and developing a team of Industrial Methods Technicians while driving continuous improvement, operational excellence, and workforce capability throughout the manufacturing organization.
This position will play a key role in transforming the Industrial Methods function into a highly engaged, value-added partner to manufacturing operations. The successful candidate will be a strong people leader who can develop talent, establish accountability, prioritize high-impact work, and foster collaboration between engineering and production teams.
The ideal candidate is passionate about building high-performing teams, coaching employees, solving problems at the root cause level, and creating sustainable improvements that support safety, quality, delivery, and productivity objectives.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of Industrial Methods Technicians.
- Establish clear priorities, expectations, and accountability measures.
- Foster a culture of ownership, continuous learning, and continuous improvement.
- Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, performance coaching, and employee development planning
- Identify strengths, opportunities, and skill gaps within the team and create development plans to improve technical depth and capability.
- Promote a collaborative environment focused on teamwork, innovation, and customer service to manufacturing operations.
- Ensure team members are effectively balancing operational support with long-term improvement initiatives.
Operational Partnership
- Serve as a key partner to Operations leadership in driving productivity and process improvements.
- Ensure the team maintains a visible and active presence on the production floor.
- Develop strong relationships with production supervisors, managers, quality, manufacturing engineering, and supply chain teams.
- Support manufacturing operations through timely analysis, problem-solving, and implementation of sustainable solutions.
- Align department priorities with organizational objectives and production requirements.
Process Improvement & Methods
- Lead efforts to improve manufacturing methods, labor standards, and process efficiency.
- Drive initiatives focused on productivity improvement, waste reduction, and throughput improvements.
- Ensure work instructions, labor standards, and methods of documentation are accurate and maintained.
- Support time studies, line balancing, capacity analysis, and process optimization activities.
- Lead structured problem-solving and root cause investigations for operational challenges.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve manufacturing performance and reduce non-value-added activities.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
Required
- Minimum 5 years of manufacturing experience.
- Minimum 2 years of leadership, supervisory, or team leadership experience.
- Experience with manufacturing process improvement initiatives.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Experience working cross-functionally with operations teams.
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Management, or related field.
- Experience in vehicle, transportation, or assembly manufacturing.
- Lean Manufacturing certification or equivalent experience.
- Experience with labor standards and time studies.
- ERP system experience.
- Experience leading organizational or departmental change initiatives.
