About the position
In this role, you will be required to work on mobile equipment and electrical infrastructures in both underground and surface mining environments.
 
More specifically, your responsibilities will include :

  • Performing preventive maintenance, corrective work, troubleshooting, and emergency repairs on underground mobile equipment (trucks, loaders, jumbos, bolters, drills, transporters, etc.);
  • Carrying out construction, maintenance, and troubleshooting of fixed electrical infrastructures (medium and low voltage): substations, main power cables, distribution systems, switches, transformers, VFDs, connection hubs, BCUs, fans, ventilation doors, etc.;
  • Pulling communication cables and installing components: blasting lines, Docsys systems, fiber optics, Wi‑Fi, Ethernet, cameras, MOXA, refuge stations, anchor points, etc.;
  • Assessing the work to be performed and applying applicable procedures, rules, and regulations prior to task execution;
  • Using a CMMS (JDE) to ensure proper work tracking and effective communication;
  • Coaching and supporting coworkers with tasks related to underground electrical work;
  • Applying the supervision framework and maintaining high health and safety standards.

  • Experience in a northern environment (an asset)
  • Ability to communicate in English (an asset)
