OmegaChem Inc. is looking for candidates with an excellent scientific mind and the ability to work within a multidisciplinary team to join its team in Levis, located in the Quebec City area, in Canada. The candidates must be motivated, creative and innovative in the field of organic synthesis

The candidates will be involved in the design and the preparation of new pharmaceutical intermediates. Under the supervision of the project leader, the scientists must understand and integrate the objectives of the project to design, synthesize and characterize new molecules in an efficient manner. The scientists must be able to assess priorities, identify and implement relevant experiences in order to maintain good progress of the project and meet the deadlines. Even if French is predominant in the work environment, several employees speak English and are well integrated to the team. Moreover, speaking English is an asset regarding contacts with some clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop synthetic pathways to new molecules with complex stereochemistry using computer resources and knowledge base;
  • Identify potential problems and propose effective synthetic schemes and innovative alternatives;
  • Run the syntheses of target molecules quickly and efficiently on multiple projects in parallel;
  • Analyze and interpret analytical results in relation to the structure of the synthesized molecules;
  • Perform the purification and characterization of complex organic compounds;
  • Keep a proper lab notebook in which the experiments are recorded according to the current standards in the pharmaceutical industry.
