Description

Under the supervision of the Head of Port Land Use Planning in the Land Use Planning Department, the Real Estate Administrator manages a portfolio of real estate contracts. He or she administers, coordinates, and manages a real estate portfolio consisting of port, industrial, and commercial land and buildings. In addition, he or she receives, assists, advises, coordinates, and follows up on requests from tenants of the Montreal Port Authority (MPA).

Manage a portfolio of real estate contracts:
  • Coordinate the preparation of contracts.
    • Analyze tenants' needs and work with them to determine the terms of the contracts according to the guidelines established by management.
    • Coordinate the various analyses (profitability, security, feasibility, etc.) required when renewing a contract.
  • Draft all contractual agreements with tenants in the sectors for which you are responsible.
  • Administer, manage, and enforce the terms and conditions of contractual agreements and MPA policies.
    • Coordinate actions to be taken, if required, with the various MPA departments.
  • Enter, edit, and update information related to the contractual agreements in your portfolio and perform billing.
    • Perform rent reviews as stipulated in contractual agreements.
    • Validate that the required tonnage guarantees have been met.
    • Ensure that tenants' insurance policies are renewed and comply with the terms of the contractual agreements.

Manage the port's real estate portfolio:
  • Administer and manage the properties in the real estate portfolio under your responsibility.
  • Recommend actions to be taken in problematic cases and participate in the management of contentious cases.
  • Participate in the preparation of the budget for real estate income, land, and buildings under your responsibility and in the monitoring of variances.





Follow up on tenant requests:
  • Receive tenant requests or problems, examine their validity according to the terms of the contractual agreement, and respond by coordinating the involvement of the necessary resources.
  • Maintain harmonious and lasting relationships with APM clients.

Participate in the continuous improvement of processes related to your position and/or department, as needed.

Perform any other related tasks.
 
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, law, or another relevant field.
  • 7 to 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge or work experience in real estate, specifically commercial or industrial lease management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Previous experience with SAP Real Estate module is an asset.
  • Real estate certification is an asset
  • Bilingualism (spoken and written): French and English.
