Reporting to the Director Controls, the incumbent is responsible for planning, monitoring, and controlling the Contrecœur project and coordinating the lifecycle of various projects.

The incumbent must develop and implement management tools for planning and controlling the Contrecœur project. Management relies on the incumbent’s expertise to ensure effective project management.

The incumbent is responsible for developing and updating information on the progress of the Contrecœur project and ensures the consistency and integrated management of data and management tools. They apply their project control skills to analyze and challenge the assumptions and estimates of project partners regarding the schedule and construction costs.

The incumbent identifies low-margin activities and those on the critical path and coordinates with project teams to implement mitigation measures.  He consults with and engages internal and external stakeholders. He ensures that issues related to the project timeline are captured by planning tools and uses these same tools to communicate these issues. 

General responsibilities:
 
  • Coordinate the development and updating of the project master schedule, ensuring that these activities are carried out diligently and in line with the project structure and industry best practices for planning;
  • Facilitate the active involvement of internal stakeholders in the development of the schedule;
  • Prepare and update tools, documents, and presentations on project progress tracking;
  • Prepare reports, performance indicators, and other monitoring and control elements;
  • Prepare and document project planning and review meetings;
  • Collaborate on planning exercises, particularly by organizing working sessions with internal stakeholders;
  • Advise and support managers in the planning and management of their projects;
  • Monitor the development of the construction schedule with the planning teams of external project partners, and coordinate the analysis of these deliverables with the internal team and APM consultants;
  • Analyze the methods, assumptions, and parameters used by external partners in the work schedules they submit, and advise the Project Management Office (PMO) on the instructions to provide to these partners to improve their schedules;
  • Analyze and explain discrepancies between the project schedule and actual progress;
  • Analyze contingency scenarios for identified risks by assessing potential changes in terms of additional deliverables and deadlines, in collaboration with BGP discipline leads and schedule control advisors;
  • Advise those responsible for drafting project agreements when such agreements must incorporate schedule requirements;
  • Plan, implement, and monitor the project delay mitigation program and ensure that information is communicated to project management;
  • Coordinate the analysis of change requests from suppliers, request any required additional information, ensure that information related to requests is kept up to date, and ensure that requests are processed in accordance with the change management process;
  • In collaboration with the APM’s finance business partner, develop and update cost tracking and control tools, ensuring that cost planning and forecasts are consistent with the schedule;
  • Responsible for expediting activities to proactively monitor critical project deliverables and milestones. In this role, the individual will identify potential delays, coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to expedite the flow of necessary information, and implement monitoring mechanisms to optimize schedule management and ensure compliance with contractual commitments;
Participate in the continuous improvement of processes related to their position and/or department, as needed.

Qualifications :
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (engineering, business administration, public administration, project management). PMP certification is a plus.
  • 7 to 10 years of relevant experience (large-scale project management).
  • Experience working on multidisciplinary projects.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of the maritime transport sector and/or infrastructure management is an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of development and schedule tracking tools, with expertise in the Primavera software’s planning module.
  • Bilingual in spoken and written French and English.
