Position Summary
The Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, in the School of Arts and Education is seeking to create a pool of term-certain Markers for the 2026-27 academic year.

Position Responsibilities 

  • Mark written course assignments in whole or in part as directed by faculty 
  • Specific tasks will be provided by individual course instructors. Grading responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following. 
  • Position requires some analytical thinking and decision making 
  • Identify and label grammatical errors
  • Check for accuracy of content
  • Assess soundness of arguments advanced in document
  • Must be able to work independently. 
  • Ask for clarification when needed
  • Must be able to work to the timeline established by course instructor 
  • Must be able to complete timesheets by required deadline.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of three (3) year of undergraduate education in relevant area. 
  • Proficiency in Brightspace 
  • Demonstrable evidence of some grading experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Four (4) year undergraduate degree in an in a relevant subject area.     
  • Experience assessing undergraduate assignments 

Benefits and Compensation Information
An additional 15% of the hourly rate in lieu of vacation, statutory holidays and benefits

Hours of work
Varied total hours of work. The normal workday at RDP is 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday
