Who are we?

We are a non-profit network of youth hostels operating across Quebec and Ontario. Our mission is to create positive connections between people from here and from around the world, and to encourage the discovery of our territory. We believe that open-mindedness, solidarity, and kindness contribute to a better way of traveling.

You are the ideal candidate if:

  • You have strong customer service skills;
  • You enjoy working both independently and as part of a team;

  • You are familiar with the hospitality industry (an asset);

A typical day

More specifically, as a member of the housekeeping team, your role will be to ensure the cleanliness of the hostel. Among other things, you will:

  • Clean, maintain, and tidy guest rooms, bathrooms, and other designated areas;
  • Distribute bedding from floor to floor for room cleaning;
  • Clean guest rooms and common areas;
  • Apply housekeeping procedures in accordance with quality standards and safety protocols;
  • Clean mirrors, dust furniture, make beds, etc.;
  • Clean floors in rooms, corridors, and stairwells;
  • Empty recycling bins, compost, and trash;
  • Perform periodic maintenance of certain areas or equipment;
  • Manage lost and found items;
  • Organize and store cleaning supplies and equipment;
  • Report maintenance issues using the appropriate documentation;
  • Take inventory of housekeeping products;
  • Perform any other related tasks.

Working conditions

  • Compensation: hourly wage of $19.80 upon hiring and $20.80 per hour after the probation period;
  • Group insurance* and a 5% employer contribution to the group retirement savings plan;
  • Free or discounted stays in hostels within the network;
  • Flexible work environment;
  • Work organization may vary depending on the tourist season.
