Junior Structural Engineer
 
Shellex Groupe Conseil is currently seeking a Junior Structural Engineer to join its team at the Toronto office.

Responsibilities

 The Structural Engineer will be responsible for:
  • Performing technical design and project management activities;
  • Supporting the team of technicians/drafters in the execution of various projects (design and construction);
  • Coordinating projects and communicating with external stakeholders;
  • Coordinating projects with internal engineering disciplines (process, building mechanics, civil, electrical);
  • Ensuring compliance with fee budgets and delivery schedules;
  • Ensuring the quality of deliverables in accordance with firm standards, applicable codes, and regulations;
  • Identifying client needs and proposing innovative solutions;
  • Monitoring construction work, both from the office and on-site.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil / Structural Engineering from an accredited university, with focus on reinforced concrete, structural steel, masonry, dynamic analysis, and finite element analysis. Master’s degree preferred;
  • Eligible to work in Canada without further authorization;
  • Currently working towards Professional Engineering designation (P.Eng.) in Ontario;
  • Experience in utilizing codes and standards – NBCC, OBC, A23.3, S16, etc.;
  • Experience in structural analysis software – SAFI, STAAD.Pro, etc.;
  • Experience in calculation software – MathCAD, Excel, etc.;
  • Experience in drafting and modelling software – AutoCAD, Revit, etc.;
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently;
  • Ability to communicate ideas clearly and effectively;
  • Open and driven to learn and develop;
  • Maintains a valid driver’s license.
 
Working Conditions
  • Annual salary between $85,000 and $100,000, based on experience (salary scale corresponding to a junior engineer with approximately 1 to 3 years of experience);
  • Flexible work schedule between 37.5 and 40 hours per week;
  • Vacation policy of 3 to 5 weeks per year, depending on experience.
