Teach Trucking, Inspire Our Drivers, and Keep Knowledge Rolling!

Under the supervision of the Quality, Safety, and Training (QSF) Supervisor, the Trainer-Inspector is responsible for teaching trucking fundamentals as well as specialized concepts related to vehicle transport to all drivers.

 

Responsibilities

  • Ensure trips are optimized (no empty spaces).

  • Assist and train drivers on loading and unloading routines.

  • Ensure drivers comply with Law 430.

  • Perform road tests with trucks for the garage and assist with vehicle movements.

  • Ensure all drivers complete their RDS and logbook on their mobile device.

  • Inspect trips at CN and other locations, for loaded and empty trucks.

  • Verify that drivers perform mechanical checks before departure and upon return.

  • Inspect vehicles using LDS.

  • Ensure drivers follow company health and safety rules and introduce one safety topic per month.

  • Provide comprehensive training for new drivers in compliance with the Canada Labour Program.

  • Ensure truck and binder compliance with MIR.

  • Participate in damage meetings and inform drivers about improvements and updates.

  • Participate in the “Transportez Vert” program (fuel efficiency).

  • Approve drop/reload with trip diagrams.

  • Accompany drivers on the road.

  • Master the risk prevention program and apply it with drivers.

  • Travel to different terminals as needed.

  • Participate in various company committees as required.

  • Investigate and analyze different accidents (road & workplace).

 

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in the vehicle transport industry.

  • Skills in adult education (andragogy).

  • Knowledge of PEVL (an asset).

  • Knowledge of Law 430 and the Highway Safety Code.

  • Physical ability to stand, move, and work at heights.

  • Class 1 driver’s license.

 

Employment Conditions

  • Salary: To be discussed based on experience.

  • Schedule: 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM; Monday–Friday; 40 hours/week.

  • On-site role.

  • May need to travel to our Lévis terminal to participate in driver training.
