This role is for you.
We are looking for a Financial Controller to play a key strategic role at the heart of our operations. You will oversee the complete financial management of multiple entities while leading a team and supporting management in key business decisions.
YOUR ROLE
Drive the financial close
- Lead and coordinate the complete monthly close process;
- Manage the full accounting cycle, including:
payroll entries, bank reconciliations, accounts receivable and payable, inventory, and adjusting entries; - Analyze general ledger accounts, identify variances, and perform required adjustments;
- Post and validate accounting entries in the accounting system;
- Consolidate financial information using various tools (accounting, billing, inventory, document management);
- Supervise billing and accounts payable teams to ensure accurate and timely month-end closes;
- Manage a multi-company and multi-currency environment.
Act as a strategic business partner
- Support management in preparing financing requests;
- Oversee cash flow management;
- Ensure tax compliance (sales taxes, payroll deductions, source withholdings, installments, notices of assessment);
- Prepare year-end financial files;
- Develop annual budgets and monitor performance;
- Produce financial analyses and performance indicators;
- Prepare monthly margin calculations and respond to banking requirements;
- Implement and continuously improve processes, work methods, and internal controls.
Leadership and team management
- Lead, coach, and develop accounts receivable and accounts payable teams;
- Supervise a team of approximately 6 employees;
- Foster performance, autonomy, and collaboration.
WHAT YOU BRING
- CPA designation or equivalent relevant experience (an asset);
- 5–10 years of experience as a Controller in an SME or similar role;
- Strong command of the full accounting cycle;
- Solid knowledge of corporate tax compliance requirements;
- Expertise in management accounting, internal controls, and cash flow management;
- Strong technological aptitude:
- accounting systems (Business Central is an asset),
- Microsoft Office Suite with intermediate to advanced Excel required,
- CRM, document management, and inventory systems;
- Experience in a multi-company environment (strong asset);
- Proven experience in people management;
- Functional English.
