Your Role
Under the supervision of the Fit Director, the Fit & Specs Technician plays a key role in the development of garments that reflect TRISTAN’s brand image and high standards. You will ensure the perfect fit, construction integrity, and stylistic consistency of our collections, working closely with both internal teams and external partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the design team to meet fit, construction, and aesthetic goals for each collection.
- Develop detailed technical packages (measurements, construction, grading) for suppliers.
- Adapt specifications based on fabrics and styles to ensure product consistency and quality.
- Measure and analyze samples prior to fittings to verify compliance with TRISTAN standards.
- Lead live model fit sessions and recommend adjustments to optimize fit and garment construction.
- Write clear, detailed fit comments with supporting photos and digital sketches.
- Maintain proactive communication with suppliers to ensure full understanding and application of TRISTAN’s expectations.
- Manage sample approvals for fit and production, including final grading specifications.
- Maintain the PLM database with up-to-date sample history, fit revisions, and approvals.
- Build and update a library of standard blocks and technical specifications to ensure fit consistency.
- Provide ongoing technical support to suppliers to maintain high quality standards.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Degree in Fashion Design.
- 5+ years of experience in garment fitting, patternmaking, or a related field.
- Strong expertise in pattern creation and grading.
- Solid understanding of garment production, construction techniques, and textiles.
- Analytical mindset, precision, and strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Knowledge of Illustrator, PLM systems, and garment CAD software (e.g., LECTRA) is an asset.
- Bilingual (French and English) to communicate effectively with international suppliers.
