Position Summary

The Lifeguard ensures the safety of swimmers, prevents accidents through active supervision, and responds quickly in case of an emergency.
They also ensure compliance with safety regulations, maintain the facilities, and support the smooth operation of aquatic activities.
This role is essential in providing a safe, welcoming, and professional environment for all users.

 

🔍 Main Responsibilities

Surveillance & Safety

  • Maintain constant supervision of swimmers and intervene quickly in dangerous situations or incidents.
  • Apply recognized aquatic rescue techniques and first aid when necessary.
  • Ensure users comply with safety rules and facility regulations.
  • Assess potential risks and take preventive measures to avoid accidents.

Operations & Maintenance

  • Perform the safe opening and closing of aquatic installations.
  • Inspect lifesaving equipment and report any defects or malfunctions.
  • Contribute to regular maintenance of the facilities (pool decks, changing rooms, equipment) to ensure a clean and safe environment.

Public Guidance & Communication

  • Inform and educate users about safe swimming practices.
  • Provide courteous and professional service to citizens.
  • Participate in weekly practices and ongoing training to maintain skills.
  • Assist in the preparation or support of municipal events when required.

Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with colleagues during emergency interventions.
  • Participate in team meetings (training, maintenance, procedure reviews).
  • Perform any other related duties assigned by the supervisor.

🎓 Requirements

  • Valid aquatic certifications (as applicable: Bronze Medal, Bronze Cross, National Lifeguard).
  • Ability to communicate clearly.
  • Minimum age of 15 years.
