Bill’s Heavy Duty is looking for an experienced Truck and Transport Technician to join our growing team in Castlegar, BC.

We’ve been serving the West Kootenay region for over 40 years and operate a 30,000 sq. ft. facility packed with high-end equipment. From heavy-duty repairs to complex diagnostics and custom fabrication—this isn’t your average shop. What You’ll Do

  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy-duty trucks and transport vehicles
     
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
     
  • Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance
     
  • Maintain detailed service records
     
  • Collaborate with a team of skilled technicians to meet shop and customer needs
     

What We’re Looking For

  • Certified Truck & Transport Technician (Red Seal preferred but not required)
     
  • 3+ years of relevant experience
     
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
     
  • Familiarity with Cummins, Caterpillar, and International systems is a plus
     
  • Ability to read schematics and service manuals
     
  • Class 1 or 3 driver’s license an asset
     
  • Team-oriented with strong communication skills

Bill’s Heavy Duty is a respected name in commercial vehicle repair in BC. Our owner started as a tech in 1993 and has built a shop that invests in its people and tools. We’re ICBC-certified, a Commercial Vehicle Inspection Facility, and work with a wide range of clients across the Kootenays. The shop is located just minutes from the airport and has grown to a team of 22 staff.
