The South Country Kids Care Program is dedicated to providing high-quality and enriching
before and afterschool care programs for children in our community. We believe in creating a

The Opportunity:
We are seeking two enthusiastic and dedicated Part-Time Before and Afterschool Care
Educators to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in providing engaging and
nurturing care for children aged 5-12, supporting their social, emotional, and physical well
being during out-of-school hours. You will report directly to the Program Manager.
Responsibilities:
• Provide attentive and responsible care and supervision for children aged 5 to 12
years.
• Plan, prepare, and implement a variety of age-appropriate and engaging activities, both
structured and free play, in indoor and outdoor settings.
• Facilitate positive interactions among children and encourage their participation in
activities.
• Assist with the preparation and serving of snacks and potentially breakfast, ensuring
nutritional needs are met.
• Create and maintain a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all children.
• Support children's social and emotional development by fostering positive
relationships and providing guidance.
• Communicate effectively and respectfully with children, parents/guardians, and the
Program Manager regarding children's experiences and any relevant information.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe program space, ensuring toys and materials are
properly stored.
• Adhere to all program policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Supervise children during walking transitions to and from designated activities or
locations.
• Provide healthy snacks and meals, offering opportunities for choice where
appropriate, while serving as a positive and healthy role model for children.
Qualifications:
• Possess an Early Childhood Educator Assistant (ECEA) certification, completion of a
Responsible Adult Course, or a higher qualification such as an ECE or Human Service
Worker Diploma, or relevant work history with children and a willingness to obtain the
Responsible Adult Course prior to hiring.
• Previous experience working with children in a group setting is highly desirable.
• A foundational understanding of child development principles and age-appropriate
activities.
• Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Valid Standard First Aid and CPR certification, or a willingness to obtain this
certification prior to or shortly after commencing employment.
• Successful completion of a clear Criminal Record Check.
Estimated Wage: $18 - $24 per hour
