YHU Terminal is a partnership between Porter Aviation Holdings and Macquarie Asset Management to develop and operate a new state-of-the-art passenger terminal at MET - Montreal Metropolitan Airport in Saint-Hubert. The private Terminal operator offers modern facilities that will eventually welcome up to four million passengers a year.
Mission
The Ramp Agent Part-Time at YHU Terminal plays a key role in daily ground operations, ensuring the safe, efficient, and on-time execution of ground service activities such as baggage handling, cabin cleaning, and aircraft servicing. Their contribution is essential to maintaining smooth flight operations and delivering high-quality service. This physically demanding and safety-critical position requires strong teamwork, attention to detail, and strict adherence to operational procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Perform baggage and cargo handling, including loading, unloading, sorting, and transporting items to and from aircraft.
Carry out aircraft servicing tasks, such as chocking, placement of cones, lavatory and water services, and GPU connection.
Complete cabin cleaning between flights to maintain onboard cleanliness and presentation standards.
Operate a variety of ground service equipment (GSE) safely and according to procedures (e.g., belt loaders, tugs, stairs).
Assist with aircraft marshalling and towing operations, under supervision or direction of the Team Leader.
Collaborate with the team and Team Leader to ensure availability and functionality of equipment prior to each flight.
Perform visual inspections of the ramp area and aircraft for hazards or damage.
Ensure compliance with aviation safety standards, security regulations, and company procedures.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment on the ramp and in equipment areas.
Follow instructions from the Team Leader to ensure the safe and efficient execution of tasks.
Perform additional duties assigned to support ramp operations.
Qualifications & Competencies
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Prior experience in ramp operations or ground handling is an asset.
Valid driver’s license required (class 5).
Bilingual – Verbal communication skills in French and English
Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions, in confined or restricted spaces when necessary, and in good physical condition to lift loads up to 32 kg (70 lbs), with frequent standing, walking, and bending required.
Must consistently adhere to the company’s uniform policy and always maintain a professional appearance.
Schedule includes rotating shifts, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays.
