Champlain College Lennoxville is seeking the services of a Pedagogical Counsellor (Institutional Effectiveness and Quality Assurance)for a regular, full-time position.
FUNCTIONS
Reporting to the Coordinator of Pedagogical and Institutional Development, the Pedagogical Counsellor provides specialized professional support to faculty, staff, and management personnel in the areas of institutional effectiveness, quality assurance, program evaluation and revision, student success, and pedagogical support.The incumbent serves as a key resource in the implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and enhancement of the College's academic and institutional quality assurance mechanisms. The work requires expertise in providing pedagogical support to teachers (program evaluation, data-informed decision making, policy implementation, strategic planning, and institutional assessment).
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:
1. Program Evaluation and Quality Assurance
- Contribute to the evaluation of academic programs in accordance with institutional policies and procedures.
- Provide professional guidance to program evaluation committees.
- Develop evaluation frameworks, tools, timelines, and reporting mechanisms.
- Support the development of program evaluation action plans.
2. Institutional Effectiveness
- Support the development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of institutional effectiveness mechanisms.
- Participate in the development and assessment of strategic planning initiatives and institutional priorities.
- Contribute to continuous improvement processes through the collection and analysis of institutional data.
- Advise managers and committees regarding evidence-informed decision-making practices.
3. Student Success Assessment
- Support the development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the Student Success Plan.
- Conduct or coordinate surveys, focus groups, and other data-gathering activities related to student success and student experience.
- Analyze results and prepare reports for management, committees, and governing bodies.
- Identify trends and make recommendations to enhance student success outcomes.
4. Institutional Research and Academic Analytics
- Design, administer, and analyze institutional surveys and assessment tools.
- Develop and maintain internal research tools and processes that support planning, evaluation, and decision making.
- Collaborate with institutional research personnel and academic services staff in the interpretation and dissemination of findings.
5. Program Lifecycle Support
- Serve on designated program committees and support program development, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and revision activities.
- Assist programs in the preparation of local program documents, generic course plans, and related curriculum documentation.
- Provide ongoing support to program coordinators regarding program quality and continuous improvement.
6. Policy Development and Institutional Frameworks
- Support the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of institutional academic policies and procedures.
- Assist in the development and periodic review of academic policies, guidelines, and quality assurance frameworks.
- Contribute to institutional reporting requirements and accountability processes.
7. Pedagogical and Committee Support
- The incumbent provides pedagogical support to faculty on an individual basis as required.
- Collaborate with faculty, coordinators, managers, and committees to foster a culture of quality enhancement and continuous improvement.
- Participate in institutional committees related to academic quality, student success, and institutional effectiveness.
- Develop and facilitate pedagogical workshops or information sessions related to program evaluation, quality assurance, and evidence-informed practices.
8. Other Related Duties
- Perform other related duties in accordance to the classification plan as assigned by the Coordinator of Pedagogical and Institutional Development.
WORKING HOURS Monday to Friday, thirty-five (35) hours per week.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Bachelor’s degree in a field of specialization relevant to the job, such as administration or education.
Competencies
Fluently bilingual, oral and written (English and French).
The candidates will be required to submit to English and French language tests.
Other Requirements
Good knowledge of the Cégep network;
Excellent attention to details and rigor;
Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills;
Experience with research grant request processes an asset;
Tactful communication skills;
Good organizational skills;
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.)

Salary Range From $57,547 to $105,578 per year.
